There has been an important development in the crypto world to ensure employment equality in the blockchain ecosystem and to increase women's participation in this field. CryptoFemale, a major non-governmental organization in the IT, software, and engineering industries, has announced that it has partnered with Ledger, the premier safe access point among hardware wallets that keep crypto assets offline and provide a high level of protection. In partnership with Ledger and CryptoFemale, an effort is being launched to pave the way for women in the field of technology, to contribute more to the economy and to make women be active in the blockchain ecosystem through training and seminars. Through these efforts, CryptoFemale is expected to make a global impact with Ledger, the world's top hardware wallet brand, to develop sustainable projects.
According to international labour reports, women are less likely to be hired than men in the blockchain industry due to prejudices and inequality of opportunity. This collaboration, formed to make women more prominent in the industry and to achieve equal employment goals in the blockchain ecosystem, is projected to add to women's visibility. Commenting on the collaboration, CryptoFemale official said, "Women are much less employed in the blockchain industry than men. Therefore, the similar situation in Web3 technology shows that women need to be more empowered to develop innovative methods and approaches. Collaborations between crypto women communities and brands in the crypto asset ecosystem will pave the way for faster involvement of women in technology."
Gender-based equal opportunities and employment issues, which are prominent in the world and in our country, cause women's employment to remain at an insufficient level, especially in the IT, software and engineering sectors. While the role of skilled human resources is essential, Blockchain technology is moving towards new dimensions. Founded in 2017 by Sima Baktaş, Aybike Özer, Hilal Baktaş, "CryptoFemale" is working to ensure equal opportunities in this rapidly developing sector. It was established for women to participate in the world of blockchain and cryptocurrency to be more visible on a global scale, especially in Turkey, and in the IT sector with this technology. CryptoFemale Turkey, CryptoFemale California, and CryptoFemale India were formed in the fourth quarter of 2022, and plans are being made for worldwide operations. The goals of CryptoFemale include, among others, the following:
To improve women's technological literacy
To cooperate with relevant organizations and contribute to gender equality
To organize training, workshops, seminars and similar interactive organizations that will bring together women and men working in different sectors
Organizing boot camps to increase women's knowledge in the blockchain and cryptocurrency sector
Participating in or hosting national and international organizations
Teaching how to write blockchain projects and creating a support mechanism for projects
